Is It Just Me?

Am I the only one who prefers to start new projects rather than doing the finishing on old ones? The Tangled Yoke Cardigan is all done now, except for grafting the underarm. The reason I haven't done this yet (besides the fact that I'm a procrastinator) is that I'm still trying to decide whether I like the faux seam or not. I'll try dropping that stitch and either changing to stockinette or maybe trying EZ's version of a faux seam to see if I like that better or not. After that, I still need to block it and find some buttons. Oh yeah, and weave in the ends, which is naturally my very favorite part.

In the meantime, I got some Jaeger Extra Fine Merino Chunky off of eBay. This stuff is lovely and springy and machine washable, which I love. Since it arrived, I decided to start on a little top. I'm making it up as I go along, but it's inspired by the Juliet tops I've seen. For the bottom section, I'm thinking of using the lace rib from Elizabeth's Ophelia, but I'll have to see how it looks in this chunky gauge. If not, I'll have fun browsing through my stitch dictionaries. I've left the sleeve stitches on holders and am hoping that I'll have enough yarn left to do 3/4 sleeves. It might be cutting it close, though, since each ball is only 60yds and I'm already on my 4th ball!

  1. The affliction you mention is called "Startitis" and sadly, albeit common, there is no medicine or cure. Poverty doesn't even help. Sorry.
