A Return to Knitting

It's been nearly a year and a half since I last knit. I was knitting all the time--everywhere. Thinking about it, planning it, blogging it. Loved it.

Then I got pregnant. And nauseous. Not the throwing up kind, just the queasy-I-don't-feel-good kind. Something about knitting made it a lot worse. Maybe it was looking down. Maybe it was the feel of the yarn in the summer heat when I was already not feeling good. Whatever it was, it made me not want to knit. I didn't even want to think about it anymore. I packed away my yarn (and there was a lot of it!), my needles, my books, everything. So much for fantasies of welcoming Baby with cute little knitted things. Even after Baby, I still had such a strong association with it that I couldn't pick it up again, even though I tried several times.

A few weeks ago, we had a cold snap. The weather turned frosty after what had been a really mild winter up to that point. My thoughts began to turn to scarves and mittens and yarn. I felt ready. I dug through my stash and began clicking away on the various web patterns I had bookmarked on my "To Do" list. I settled on Wavy because it was simple and fun and perfect for the beautiful Manos del Uruguay in Geranio that called to me from my stash.

So there! I'm now back in the swing of things. Thanks to Sarah Smith for her design that got me back!
