...Nah, just kidding! My knitting is not that dramatic. I did want to share the story of my Wallis Cardigan, though. I experimented with two different sleeve sizes, both of which were smaller than what the pattern instructs. See what you think.
I first made the sleeve that is pictured on the left. It is about 1" in circumference less than the pattern, and about 1-1/2 inches shorter. To me, though, it still seemed too big. You can see the sizing problem better from the side.
So the second sleeve was made smaller. This one is about 3" in circumference less than the pattern, and about 2-1/2 inches shorter. I think it is a far, far better sleeve.
It is beautiful and I agree, shorter sleeve is way better.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - the short sleeve is nicer. Did you increase the sleeve back to the dimensions called for in the pattern or did you adjust the armhole shaping as well?

ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, the shorter sleeve if far better on you. Amazing what a difference a relatively nominal adjustment can make. Great job on this sweater!

ReplyDeleteAgreed. I like the smaller sleeve as well. I'm considering doing blouson sleeves when I finally start this project or else foregoing sleeves entirely, but I love the way yours turned out!
