This week, I managed to finish my hoodie from the Classic Elite Make It Modern booklet. I love it! It's a great item to throw on to add just the right amount of warmth for a Texas autumn day.

You know, I really love hoodies, which strikes me as a bit strange because I don't ever actually wear the hood. For some reason, I was willing to spend all the extra time and yarn to make the hood, knowing that it will always just hang back there like some vestigial organ. I guess I just like the drape of a hood--kinda like a backwards cowl. Anyway, I'm very happy with it! More info on Ravelry and in the gallery.
Ahhh -- I love it. And you're right - it's so perfect for our weather and you don't feel like you're overdoing it.
ReplyDelete(I'd been wondering what you were working on!)
Beautiful! I like hoodies too, although I almost never actually wear the hood :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous sweater. I'll weigh in against hoods on sweaters. I own a couple, but I never wear the hood, or noticed anyone else wearing one either. However, they are quite fashionable now, so it worth knitting the hood for style's sake.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! And it is perfect for our climate. I'm the same way about hoodies - like the look but only rarely put the hood up :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I don't know anyone who actually uses the hood on their sweaters, yet most people love hoodies. Strange.
ReplyDeletesoooo cute! i love it! i love hoodies too. i only put the hood on when it is raining but love the way they look. good job!
ReplyDeletelove that pattern, and i feel the same about hoodies. i always prefer them but never use them. (shrug).
ReplyDeleteI love that hoodie! That is exactly the type of thing I would wear ALL the time. Now if I would only finish the hoodie I started during our little KAL...
ReplyDeleteSorry-that last comment was from me! -Farrah
ReplyDeleteI love hoodies because my bottom half is larger than my top half and the extra bulk makes me feel visually balanced. Plus, a little extra bulk around the shoulders does provide more warmth. I love your soft neutral color, too.
ReplyDeleteI love hoodies too, and never wear the actual hood (even when it's raining). There's something comforting in having the hood there ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I also like hoodies, though I almost never wear the hood - it sounds like you're in good company :) The only time a hoody bugs me is if I need to put a coat on top of it, then I need to pull the hood out the top, or else I feel like I've got a giant bump behind my neck :)
ReplyDeleteLooks so cozy! Great job =)
ReplyDeletei bought that booklet not long ago based in part on this pattern. it's lovely the color you chose. i'm so glad i came upon your post about this project. it looks wonderful on you.
