Tuesday Tube: Working Girls

Since reading Eating Animals, I have tried to be more conscious about animal welfare. But even I was surprised by what some of our British friends are doing for to help laying hens that have been retired from commercial laying farms. (They would otherwise be slaughtered after about a year, when their egg production starts to decrease). Check it out:



These little sweaters were made for the British Hen Welfare Trust to help the bald (and presumably cold) chickens. And this is not even the only organization. I found another news video about sweaters being made for the Little Hen Rescue in Norwich
