Inspired by Etsy seller Kiki Creates, via Lauren Post, to make a print:
It's a fun way to provide my daughters a little positive reinforcement. We use a dry erase marker on top of the glass insert for the frame, so we can change up the message. Since I already had my Silhouette plugged in, this was pretty quick. I printed the message I wanted onto cardstock and used the machine to cut out some letters from patterned paper. The letters were glued on top of the printed word, just slightly offset so that it would look like a shadow.
This helped to highlight the girl's name (which I edited out of the photo) and the word "awesome," but mainly I did it so that I wouldn't have to worry about proper spacing and alignment when trying to paste down the letters.
What a great idea! That machine looks really cool too!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, the machine has been really useful.
