Cowlabunga

I love cold-weather knits more than I love the actual cold weather. Cold-weather knits are soft, comfy, and romantic. Cold weather is...well, it's just cold. For the most part, I really don't miss living further up north, but I do wish it'd get just cold enough here so that I'll have a chance to wear this yummy cowl.

The Berroco Souffle is so soft! I bought it on a recent trip to Little Rock, where I visited the Yarn Mart. I saw a model of the cowl and had to have it! They gave out a simple pattern, which I lost, so I don't know what the stitch count was "supposed" to be, but it's so straightforward: cast on enough stitches to make it about 18" across and knit in stockinette till you run out of the yarn on 3 skeins. I slipped the first stitch on each row just to make it a bit more tidy. I also used a provisional cast-on so that I could Kitchener the 2 ends together.

Bring on the cold!

  1. Now, this looks yummy.
However, once that cold comes, it sticks around for longer than I care for it to stick.

  2. With a name like souffle, it just has to be soft. Pretty too.

  4. Bring on the cold, indeed! I laughed out loud when I first started reading your post because I totally agree that I love the cold ONLY because I get to wear cold-weather knits (and knit them). The actual cold ... bleh ... could live without it (a little). Your cowl is fabulous. Thanks for introducing me to a new yarn. Oh dear, there goes my promise to not add to my stash!
