All Done!

I've finished my Bettie's Pullover! I did try to ladder up the dropped stitch, but it was too noticeable, even after blocking, so I dropped it back down again most of the way and just tacked it into place behind a neighboring stitch. All done!

The only modification I made to this design was to make it with short sleeves instead of long. The pattern itself is quite clever. Short rows are used to create an undulating foundation for the feather and fan stitch, and short rows are again repeated at the top of the body when transitioning back to stockinette. The sleeves look like they're set in, but actually, they're knit in one piece with the body. More details are on Ravelry.

  1. Gorgeous! I'm really impressed with those sleeves - they really do look set in!

    1. Thank you! I'm a big fan of this clever pattern!

(Oh and look! The threaded comments started working even though I didn't do anything different!)

  2. That's gorgeous, Vy. There's something calming about the blue sweater against your blog's color scheme...

  3. It's very lovely and slightly retro. I've queued that pattern and I think I want to do mine in 3/4 length sleeves. I will probably convert it to set-in sleeves because I actually find that easier to do.

    1. Thanks, Betty! It's definitely retro, which I love. I had only ever done raglan sleeves or rounded yokes all in one piece, so I was eager to try this technique. I liked it, but there were a lot of "at the same time" directions to track, so I ended up making a quick chart to remind me which rounds required shaping.

  5. Your Sweater is wonderful

I noticed in Rav that your pullover is one of only four 'finished' projects of this Bettie's Pullover

Feather & Fan is an attractive element, however, I especially enjoy the collar/tab closure.

    1. Thank you! I really like the collar too. I'm surprised there aren't more FOs of this. It seemed more of a Spring pattern to me, though, so maybe people will take more interest as the weather gets warmer.

    1. Thank you! I feel that it went much faster than I expected. BTW, I did use my Denise set for this, except when I needed size 4 US...but that shouldn't deter you from getting Addis if you "need" them, LOL!

  9. Love it! You have a gift for choosing flattering colors (I'm probably repeating myself, but it's true!) I always thought it would be tricky using feather and fan in a garment, but this works well at a smaller gauge.

    1. You are so sweet! You're right--I think the lace it works better in this scale for a garment. I am still wearing something underneath, though!
