Free At Last

Have you ever had a pattern that just absolutely consumed you? For me, it was Ivel. I have not had much knitting time this month, but what time I did have all went to this project. Other stuff fell by the wayside, and I didn't even check blogs and the Ravelry friends page the way I normally do. Part of the reason it had such a hold on me is that there were some problems in the pattern. It was somewhat frustrating, so I was afraid to stop working on it--I knew that if I did, it would languish forever.



If you care for all the excruciating details, they are in the gallery and on Ravelry. Thankfully, it looks like the designer is going to be releasing a new version later this week, and then hopefully the corrections I noted will no longer be relevant.

Now that I finished it, I feel so free! I admit it's currently more of a relief than a joy, but I think that'll change when I actually get to wear this project. I hope to debut it at the Madrona Fiber Arts Festival. That's right--I'm going! It was an early surprise birthday present from my husband. Time to myself to devote to knitting! Hooray!
